Saturnia waterfalls, a wonder of nature
Water gushes from the natural hot spring into our pool at Terme di Saturnia, it rushes onwards through two kilometres of meadows down to the Saturnia Cascades. The thermal water arrives with such force onto the limestone, that it has created one of the most beautiful natural wonders in the world. The series of blue and white coloured pools with the hot vapours rising into the sunlight, are a photographer’s dream.
The falls, also known as “Cascate del Mulino” or “Cascate del Gorello”, have long fascinated the world. Beginning with rain drops falling on Mount Amiata, the water filters through the rocks, travelling for 40 years underground. Enriched with minerals it emerges as this miraculous gift of wellbeing in the centre of our Terme di Saturnia Resort, flowing on to finally arrive at the waterfalls.
The waterfalls are completely wild and free and may be visited any time of day.
