The mild climate of the Tuscan Maremma and the presence of hot springs makes the golf course at Terme di Saturnia the ideal place for playing all year round.
The course has been designed by architect Ronald Fream of Golf Plan who has put his name to some of the world’s most prestigious golf courses since 1972. This particular par-72 course, with its 18 holes and 6,316 sq metres of surface area, extends over gentle hills and is animated by a host of obstacles and bunkers set out to defend spacious greens.
The practice green, located just a few dozen metres away from the 5-star Resort of Italy’s most famous Spring, roughly occupies 33,000 sq metres of ground and offers double tees which, facing each other at a distance of 350 metres, enable you to play between two amazing views: Saturnia castle and the gentle hills of the Maremma. The technical characteristics of the practice green provide the perfect simulation of a hole, with the possibility to practice from a green all through the year and the presence of multiple target greens. The tees to the south, fitted out with 9 covered teeing stations comprising 3 heated ones, all equipped with front and side mirrors, offers 14 uncovered stations for practising directly from the green; the northern tees, situated close to the starting point of hole no. 4, offer 22 uncovered stations on grass, a putting green, a pitching green and yet another green dedicated to getting out of the bunker.
After the game, Italy’s most renowned hot spring water, which gushes out at a constant temperature of 37.5°C and a flow of 500 litres per second, is there to take care of our golf-loving guests. Its therapeutic and soothing qualities, the special treatments of the pluri-awarded Beauty Clinic and the mild climate of the Maremma, make Terme di Saturnia the best Swing & Spa location.
